Five Things Friday
Welcome to another Friday! While this week was a short one on the work schedule, it felt terribly long to me, so TGIF!
- Book of the week:
This most likely isn’t a literary work that will survive the ages, and it didn’t change my life. However, it is a thoroughly enjoyable novel with a unique premise, and it made me do a lot of thinking about being genuine in this age of social media.
2. Added to my TBR List:
One of my favorite things about the start of a new month is getting a new copy of BookPage magazine at my library. It reminds me of the Scholastic book fair catalogs I’d get in school. I go through each new issue with a pen to circle at the titles that look interesting, so I can add them to my ever growing TBR List!
The new editions to my list from this month’s issue are:
Bored and Brilliant by Manoush Zomorodi
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
Reading People by Anne Bogel
3. When I wasn’t reading:
I took advantage of the holiday weekend by staying home to get caught up on tasks. My husband and I went to a fun game night hosted by some friends. This week has been full of errands and re-arranging of plans.
4. Photo of the week:
My new bracelet arrived today that I ordered from a friend who is a Keep Collective representative. It says “Montana Strong” and was a fundraiser for firefighters here in Montana, where we are experiencing a record breaking wild fire season. The last statistic I saw said over 550,000 acres have burned this summer.
5. Looking forward:
I cancelled my trip out of town for the weekend, which is a bummer. Yet that decision has come with some relief. I’m looking forward to catching up on housework this weekend, and getting a lot of reading and writing done!
