Five Things Friday: June 18, 2021

Hello and welcome to Friday, I hope you had a nice week. Here in Montana it has been very hot and windy and so our fire season has already begun.

Here’s a look at what I’ve been up to this week:

Something that made me happy this week.

I ordered these cookies from my baker friend. They were a thank you gift for my tattoo artist is who designed a gorgeous goldfish tattoo to cover up an old one. They turned out so cute! It made me happy to surprise him with them.

Something I read this week.

I finished The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary, which I recently won in a Goodreads Giveaway. O’Leary is so great at fitting a charming romance into a complex storyline. As with her other novels, there are heavy themes here. Unlike her others, this one stays in the heavy territory more often than the light. It also felt a bit on the long side. But overall it’s a touching, enjoyable read.

Something I did offline this week.

My husband and I bought new float tubes and got into our neighborhood pond for the first time this year. I love being out there in the middle of the water because I don’t take my phone and I’m forced to be still.

Something I’m grateful for this week.

Finding this lamp in a free pile in my neighborhood. It brought me a lot of joy to bring it home and now I’ll have something “new” to look forward to at Christmastime!

Something I’m looking forward to.

Having breakfast at our local diner this weekend for the first time in at least 16 months. My husband and I used to meet his brother and sister there fairly often so we’re all looking forward to going back to “our” place.

What made you happy this week?
