Five Things Friday May 1, 2020
Happy May Day everyone!
Welcome to another edition of Five Things Friday. Since no one has been answering my question of the week, I’ve changed my last prompt to be things I’m looking forward to.
Here’s a rundown of what I’ve been up to.
1. Some things that made me happy this week.
—-> Last week I won three books in a giveaway on Instagram. They arrived this week!
—-> Seeing my pets like this makes me so happy. My kittens loves the dogs so much, and even they’re not huge fans of her they tolerate her anyway.
2. Some things I read this week.
—-> I’m listening to a fantastic audio book called The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix. It’s narrated by Bahni Turpin, who is one of my all time favorite narrators. The story is creepy, and I’m totally hooked. Plus look at this gorgeous cover!
3. Some things I did offline this week.
—-> The weather is finally nice enough for me to put out my Smark garden. This runs along the walkway leading up to our front door. I tried planting flowers there for years but it doesn’t get enough sun. I’ve always wanted to have a fair garden but I don’t like fairies because historically they’re quite mean. So I had this idea to use Smurfs! It’s taken me a while to collect everything, and putting them out every spring brings me so much joy.
—-> Taking occasional drives to get out of the house and take in the scenery.
4. Some things I’m grateful for this week.
Being able to afford groceries series when we need them
Seeing the stores getting stocked back up
Feeling my creativity return
Funny memes and GIFs
5. Some things I’m looking forward to.
—->My book club meets tomorrow. Since we’re meeting via Zoom, some of my non-local friends are going to join us. I’m excited to “introduce” my friends, plus it’s going to be a great book discussion.
—->A photographer friend is coming over this weekend to take a front porch family portrait for us.
—-> My husband is having dirt delivered this weekend to add some more gardening space.
Tell me a thing or two that made you happy this week!
