Five Things Friday May 22, 2020
Hello and happy Friday. The weeks continue to fly by, I can’t believe we’re nearing the end of May already!
Here’s what I’ve been up to this week.
1. Some things that made me happy this week.
—-> I’ve been able to visit Goodwill again for the first time since early March. I went earlier this week and found some really fun stuff, including this Bob Ross t-shirt!
—-> Seeing all the flowers in bloom on my daily walks has brought me a lot of joy.
2. Some things I read this week.
—-> I’m currently listening to the audio book of Recipe for a Perfect Housewife by Karma Brown. I’m enjoying it so far, especially because it revolves around one of my interests, vintage cook books. The story alternates between two women living in the same house. The woman in 2018 finds a cook book left behind that the former owner used as a housewife in the 1950s.
—-> I finished an advanced copy of The New Girl by Harriet Walker. You’ll probably see a lot of buzz about this book over the summer, so take my advice and SKIP IT! Here’s my Goodreads review, if you’re interested.
3. Some things I did offline this week.
—->I bought and planted flowers for my patio.
—-> I delivered books to the front porches of two local friends.
4. Some things I’m grateful for this week.
Warmer weather.
My little dog’s recheck bloodwork came back normal.
Sending postcards to let friends know I’m thinking of them.
Flowers and trees blooming.
5. Some things I’m looking forward to.
Next week’s book club meeting
I ordered a home library lending kit. I can’t wait to get it and put it to use!
