Five Things Friday October 30,2020

Hello and welcome to the last Friday of October! I hope you have a wonderful Halloween weekend.

Here’s what I’ve been up to this week:

Something that made me happy this week.

Finding this goose shaped gourd at the grocery store for only 99 cents!!

Something I read this week.

I finished The Chronology of Water by Lydia Yuknavitch. This is my book club’s November selection and one of the most amazing memoirs I’ve ever read. It’s a book all women should read.

Something I did offline this week.

Halloween is my favorite holiday and I’m disappointed I won’t be handing out candy for Trick or Treaters this year. Because the holiday doesn’t look the way I want it to, I had a hard time getting excited about it this year. I almost skipped carving a pumpkin, which I love doing. I mustered up the energy to do it and was so glad I did. I’m trying to remember that little things like a jack o’lantern bring me a lot of joy so I still need to find those moments even though the holidays are different this year.

Here’s my Cat O’Lantern I carved from a pumpkin from our garden!

Something I’m grateful for this week.

The stunning sunsets (and sunrises) we’ve had lately. This is the view from my office window one evening this week.

Something I’m looking forward to.

I’m excited about seeing kids Trick or Treating tomorrow, even if I won’t be opening my door to them. I’m going to put candy out on my front porch so I can still see them and maybe even talk to them from my Ring doorbell!

Now tell me something that made you happy this week!
