7 Authors I Discovered This Year
One of the best and worst parts of being a book blogger and on Instagram is that I’m constantly finding new books and authors that I want to read. I’ve read some truly amazing books this year, and here is a list of authors who were new to me.
Staci writes small town romances that are sweet and relatable. Often there is a down home on the farm girl/guy who is faced with someone who lives a different lifestyle. They’re funny books with steamy sex scenes, including one in a barn! Her books remind me of the Winston brothers series by Penny Reid.
Favorite book: For Love or Honey (Blum’s Bees #1)
Samantha’s essays are honest, hilarious, and often self-deprecating. When I read her, I’m frequently laughing out loud and nodding my head in agreement. She tackles a wide range of topics, including relationships, work, writing, race and societal issues.
Favorite book: We Are Never Meeting in Real Life
Her romance novels are some of the very best I’ve read all year. They are current and funny, with characters that are realistic. They’re usually pretty sexy too.
Favorite book: Lizzy Blake’s Best Mistake (A Brush With Love #2)
Jessica Anya Blau
Blau writes characters and relationships that are true to life. She can perfectly capture the feeling of a past era with vivid descriptions and pop culture references.
Favorite book: Mary Jane
Her romance novels feature bold characters you want to root for. Her novels are diverse and evoke a lot of emotion.
Favorite book: A Caribbean Heiress in Paris (Las Leonas Book One)
These literary novels call on history and mythology. She tells her own version of the story using previously known characters. Her writing is strong and evocative.
Favorite book: The Song of Achilles
