Five Things Friday December 27, 2019
Happy Friday, I hope you had a lovely Christmas holiday!
You haven’t seen an update for me since last Friday due to the holiday, travel, and a migraine that knocked me on my butt for a couple days.
So here’s my week in review:
1. Something that made me happy this week.
About two weeks ago, my book loving friend Holly sent me a package marked “Do not open until December 24th.” Monday was a tough day with a long drive, and Tuesday morning I woke up with a migraine. But I was so happy it was the day I could open my gift from Holly!
Holly and her cousins partake in the Icelandic tradition of Jolabokaflod, which is the gifting of books and chocolate on Christmas Eve. Besides a paperback novel and a chocolate bar, I got a sweet card and a super cute fabric book pouch.
2. Something I’m reading this week.
I finished Dumplin’ by Julie Evans during this holiday vacation. It was a lovely read, a much needed change pace after a few heavy literary fiction books in a row!
(Stay tuned for my review of Dumplin’ in my monthly wrap up next week, or find my Goodreads review here.)
3. Something I did offline this week.
Coloring in my new Rick and Morty coloring book my sister-in-law gave me for Christmas!
4. Photo of the week.
My niece reading on Christmas morning with my dog TInsley at her feet, in his pajamas!
5. Something I’m looking forward to next week.
After Halloween, New Year’s Eve is my second favorite holiday. I always appreciate a fresh start! Plus it’s always a nice big exhale that the hectic holiday season is over.
What’s one thing that made you happy this week?
This is my last Five Things Friday for 2019. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and look forward to sharing lots of wonderful books with you in 2020!
