Five Things Friday January 17, 2020

Happy Friday! I can’t believe we’re half way through January already!

Here’s my week in review:

1. Something that made me happy this week.

My weighted blanket. I’ve only had it a few weeks but I could tell right away that it’s going to be a useful tool in dealing with my anxiety and general overwhelm I experience, related to being an empath.

2. Something I’m reading this week.

I’ve finished eight books so far this month, and they’ve all been pretty dang good. Last night, I finished The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman and it’s probably my favorite of the eight. Nina is a wonderfully relatable character, an independent woman who loves books and struggles with anxiety (sound like anybody you know?) It’s a touching novel, with aspects of friendships, family, work, and romance (and lots of literary and pop culture references. ) It’s laugh out loud funny at times, an all around great read.

3. Something I did offline this week.

I met with my writing partner Lisa, and marveled at the love in my Cafe Au’Lait.

4. Photo of the week.

This is the first photo I’ve gotten of all four of my pets together! Can you tell it was dinner time?

5. Something I’m looking forward to next week.

My local book club meets this weekend, and I’m going to a Montana State University Basketball game with my sister in-law. Both are things I am happy about. Plus, I love play-off football and there’s more of that happening this weekend too!

Tell me a thing or two that made you happy this week!
