Five Things Friday September 11, 2020
Welcome to Five Things Friday, I hope this finds you safe and healthy!
Here’s what I’ve been up to this week.
Something that made me happy this week.
Participating in my fantasy football draft. I’m glad sports are back!
Something I read this week.
This week I finished Sarah J. Maas’ incredible fantasy novel, House of Earth and Blood. It had been highly recommended, but I was intimidated by the length (800 pages.) I ended up getting totally engrossed in it and I’m sad it’s over. This is my first book by the author and I’m blown away by her skill at world building and character development. I tend to struggle with high fantasy, but this world is modern and similar to ours so I never felt lost. I highly recommend it!
Something I did offline this week.
We had our first overnight temperatures below freezing this week. My husband and I spent a chilly rainy few hours getting everything harvested that we could and covering the squash and things that will stay out for a while yet.
Something I’m grateful for this week.
That my husband, sister-in-law, and nephew made it through their backpacking trip and home safely.
Some things I’m looking forward to.
- Watching football all day Sunday
- Harvesting our pumpkins soon
- Decorating for fall
What’s something that made you happy this week?
